- RareItems.com also goes to great length to establish the authenticity of any of its proposed works of art. Trade - Buying From Us
Our works of art have been purchased for public display by many of the world's pre-eminent museums. Our clients also include a vast array of private individuals, who all desire to acquire one or more unique works of art that will ultimately enrich their surroundings and lives, and in some cases, also view their purchases as prudent investments. These people all share one thing in common, besides their passion for beautiful objects; they are the custodian of each individual work of art’s right to life - to remain a testimony of humanity’s heritage. Indeed, they all feel that “they never really own any of these works, but merely look after them in their best possible interest (restoration, conservation, studying, publishing, exhibiting, etc…), for only a brief time span, until parting, and then someone else, be it an individual or an institution takes over that responsibility”.
Trade - Selling to Us
RareItems.com purchases works of art from private collectors, public auctions, art dealers, and art brokers worldwide.
RareItems.com has developed one of the most meticulous due-diligence procedures for establishing provenance-the chain of ownership-in the antiquities trade. This is done to ensure that pieces come from reputable channels and are in accordance with the law. Such scrupulousness requires RareItems.com to employ researchers who match artifacts against lost art registries, such as Art Loss Register Ltd, and who seek out documentation of prior ownership, including, but not limited to publications, sworn affidavits, dated photographs, invoices, customs documents, and insurance policies.
Expertise Service
RareItems.com also offers an expertise service for anyone who seeks to verity the authenticity and/or value of an ancient artwork within our sphere of expertise. Please contact us for more information.
