An Ancient Roman Trefoil Rim Glass Jug

3rd – 4th century AD
Condition: Intact, with weathering and iridescence.
Provenance: Private American collection, Virginia, 1980s.
Measurements: Height 6 3/8 in. (15.5 cm.)

Infolded rim formed into a trefoil mouth, cylindrical neck with sloping shoulder, globular body with slightly concave bottom, coil handle with thumb rest, a coil wound at the base of the neck.
