An Ancient Roman Iridescent Glass Jar

This jar is a variant of the globular jar with a holloq or tubular flange at the bottom of the rim. These jars usually found in the Syro-Palastenian region, similar published examples include, Hayes, 1975, no. 385, p. 105; Oliver 1980, no. 166, p. 104.

Made of transparent rare aubergine color. Jar globular, rim upright with rounded lip and tubular flange.
